Hi there, thelastdandelion here
I’m so sorry about that confession going out and I’m sorry that you feel this way. I do agree that it is hurtful and as someone who has faced sexism, racism, and homophobia in real life, I do wish it wasn’t something people wanted in their game. It’s horrible and scary and shouldn’t exist. But I was not the one who posted that confession, and looking at it, I think taking it down wouldn’t accomplish much. Racism, sexism, and homophobia are a very real problem and I feel that deleting the confession would just brush under the table the fact that these things happen. I don’t think it was intended to be a hateful confession in which it targeted simmers in general, and I do get that people want realism in their game. However, it makes me sad that people want to play a game in which those things exist because facing those things in real life hurts. I’m so sorry you feel this way and I’m sorry because it was distasteful and rude, but taking it down won’t change anything except hide the fact that it was already made.
I’ll keep a better eye on the confessions and review them, maybe talk to the other admin if anything comes up like this again. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to deal with this earlier; I still don’t have access to a computer.
I don’t think it would be like brushing it under the rug at all.
Everyone already knows it happened and a lot of people were upset by it. Taking it down would be a perfectly logical and respectful way of responding to those who were upset and taking responsibility for something that shouldn’t have happened in the first place.
Leaving it up tells the people who make this sort of post that if their post gets past the radar, then there’s nothing anyone can do about it. Everyone will just have to suck it up. This is a win in their column.
I’m just very disappointed in this whole thing.
I wish you were able to make Sims racist, sexist, and homophobic.
Alright, I know simsconfessions is supposed to be like a non-judgmental, unbiased third party, but come on.
This sort of thing makes me extremely uncomfortable to read.
